Radio collaring of a female elephant successfully done in Surajpur Forest Division

Raipur:
One more female elephant was successfully radio-collared in Pratappur Beat of
Surajpur Forest Division on Wednesday, under the important campaign being run
by the forest department to control the elephant-human conflict in
Chhattisgarh.

Meanwhile,
three days ago on October 24, a female elephant has been successfully radio-collared in Mohanpur, room number P 2552 of Surajpur forest division of Surguja
circle.

Under
the joint project of Chhattisgarh Government Forest and Climate Change
Department and Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun, a campaign for radio-collaring of elephants is going on to get information about the movement of
elephants with the aim of reducing the human-elephant conflict.
