"How will you fight, if there are no weapons?", says health min on vaccination allocation

Raipur: The central government has allocated only 19, 90,890 doses of covid vaccine for Chhattisgarh state for the upcoming month of August, which is less than expected.  

Health Minister TS Singhdeo has took to twitter saying “GOI has allocated a total of 19, 90,890 vaccines to Chhattisgarh for the month of August, 2021 which includes: Covishield – 17, 45,890 and Covaxin-2, 45,000. The daily vaccination capacity of CG is 3.5 to 4 lakh doses/day which is almost 1 crore doses/month”.

Expressing displeasure over this, the minister added in his tweet “If we want to fight and defeat Corona, this rate is meagre.”

He has asked the saffron party to clarify how will you fight, if there are no weapons? The minister wrote in his tweet "Hathiyaar hi nai honge to ladai kaise ladenge? Bhajpa spasht karei."

Meanwhile, in the month of July also, about 20 lakh doses of vaccines have been received in the state maximum of which were Covishield. The government should have increased number of vaccines allocated for this month. Chief minister Bhupesh Baghel had also wrote a letter to PM Narendra Modi demanding one crore vaccine doses. Central government officials have said that the production of vaccines is less, in such a situation, proportionate allocation is being made to all the states.
