Raipur: Two people in Shahdol district of Madhya Pradesh and two people in Koriya district of Chhattisgarh has been arrested for allegedly selling leopard skin.
As per official sources, acting on a tip-off two people who were trying to sell leopard skin in the bike, were arrested by the joint team of Tiger Reserve Force Satna and North Forest Division Shahdol from Shahdol district of Madhya Pradesh. The team has recovered pieces of leopard skins and one bike from the spot.
Similarly, as per the informed received from these two accused during interrogation, two other accused were arrested on Sunday in a joint action by Deputy District Magistrate Janakpur and Forest Officer, Kunwarpur in Koriya district. Both the accused Ramprasad and Ramkishore, residents of village Sagra in Koriya district under Manendragarh Forest Division were arrested with the support of Deputy Forest Officer Janakpur KS Kanwar and Forest Officer Kunwarpur RS Kurre. Of the four arrested, three were from Koriya district of Chhattisgarh and one from Shahdol district of Madhya Pradesh.
On the basis of the statement of the main accused Mahavir Singh, we apprehended the two other accused involved with the help of Ranger RS Kurre from the village Sagra and handed over to the joint team of Madhya Pradesh, the officials informed.
