Raipur: Kaushalya Bai Kanwar had bought four goats and all the four goats have borne kids. She has desired to buy more goats. Chief minister has made their desire come true by directing the collector to provide financial aid to Kaushalya under government scheme.
During the program held on Friday, Minister in-charge of Korba district, Jaisingh Agrawal, presented a cheque of Rs49, 000 to Kaushalya Bai Kanwar for buying 6 goats, on instructions of chief minister.
Till a few years ago, Kaushalya Bai Kanwar's financial condition was so poor that buying a goat was like a distant dream. As Gauthan was opened in her village under Suraji Gaon Yojana, her life turned around for better. Kaushalya started making vermi compost manure, and her group earned 1 lakh 53 thousand rupees from the same. Later they started poultry farming as well. Both these enterprises have helped them earn good income and the living standard of Kaushalya's family has improved significantly. Her elder son is studying at ITI. And her family is happy.
Kaushalya, a resident of Korba district, narrated her success story to Chief Minister during the online interaction at the inauguration-bhoomipujan program held today. Kaushalya didn't forget to bring her chicken eggs, and she showed them to Chief Minister on camera delightedly. Kaushalya told that today not only is she earning, but her husband has also earned Rs 9,400 only by collecting and selling cow dung.
Kaushalya Kanwar told that the name of her self-help group is Hare Krishna Self-Help Group. Her group has sold earthworm manure for Rs 1.90 lakh, and they have also earned an income of Rs 15,000 from egg production, Rs 24,000 from the sale of earthworm and Rs 12,000 from selling pots. She said that the income-oriented activities under Godhan Nyay Yojana in Gauthans have provided them stable means of livelihood.
Congratulating Kaushalya Kanwar, chief minister Bhupesh Baghel said that she has availed the government schemes to improve her life in an exemplary way. Kaushalya's experience under the scheme is exemplary for the entire state.
