CRPF Jawan Rakeshwar Singh Freed from Naxal's Captivity.

Bijapur. CRPF's Cobra Battalion Jawan, Rakeshwar Singh Manhas, is now free. The Naxalites had captured him after the Bijapur encounter. Rakeshwar first had his medical checkup at the 168th battalion immediately after his release. The news of his freedom was met with a celebration at his Jammu residence.

The news of Jawan's liberation after six days of his capture came as a relief to people all over the country. Naxals released him in the presence of hundreds of villagers, including Padmashree Dharmapal Saini, Gondwana Samaj president Telam Boraiya, a member of the two-member arbitration team formed by the government. After the release, they returned to Basaguda with Rakeshwar.

A team of seven journalists from Bastar was also present with the two-member team that went to mediate. A total of eleven members, including a negotiating team, arrived in the rugged Bastar region to release the jawans.

The Naxalites had held the kidnapped soldier in the middle of a dense forest in the Tarrem Chowki area. They set up a Jan Adalat in the presence of the party who arrived for talks. During this time, everyone appealed to the Naxalites to release the young Rakeshwar Singh. Bastar Naxalites released the Rakeshwar Singh Manhas after the Jan Adalat. However, the Naxalites conditions for release are not yet known.
