Anyone trying to disturb social harmony will not be spared, even if he is my 86-yr-old father: CM Bhupesh Baghel


Raipur:Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Sunday said that even he is hurt by the remarks made by his father Nand Kumar Baghel last day against a particular community. 


The remarks made by his father have come to his notice and he feels that such statement will disturb social harmony. Chief Minister’s statement came on Sunday day after the BJP took a dig at Chief Minister on the issue, on Saturday and asked if the Chief Minister will say anything on his father and take action against him. 

The Chief Minister on Sunday made it clear that no one is above the law and the law will take its own course. 


“The ideological difference between me and my father is not hidden to anyone. There is also the difference of political perception between us. As a father I respect him a lot, but as a chief minister I cannot forgive any such mistake done by him which aimed at disturbing the social harmony of the state,” said the Chief Minister. 


It is to be mentioned, BJP had on Saturday targeted the Chief Minister after his father allegedly insulted Lord Ram and Brahmin community of the state. The Chief Minister said that anybody, including his86-year-old father, attempting to disturb social harmony will not be spared. The state government is determined to protect constitutional rights of everybody in the state, irrespective of their religion and caste. Police will take necessary action in the matter, said the Chief Minister.
