Raipur: The Citizen Financial Fraud System under cybercrime portal of Chhattisgarh police is yielding positive results in solving and preventing cyber financial crime cases and recovering money of victims from thugs.
In the last three months, more than Rs 26 lakh have been saved even before they fall in the hands of cyber thugs. The victims have got assistance from the police through cybercrime helpline number 155260 issued from the police headquarters. Over Rs 4.50 lakh have been recovered by contacting on this number. Rs 5.82 lakh have been saved from Raipur, Rs 3.48 lakh from Rajnandgaon and Rs 2.08 lakh from Kawardha.
A victim of cyber financial fraud can register complaint through cybercrime helpline number 155260 or under the “Citizen Financial Fraud Reporting System” in the cybercrime portal by contacting nearest police station. In view of increasing cybercrime related complaints, the service of cybercrime helpline number is now being provided 24 hours.
Special Director General of Police (Technical Services) RK Vij said that this new system will not only bring down cyber financial fraud cases, but will also break the morale of the gangs involved in such crimes. He has once again appealed to the people to immediately register complaints in cases of cyber financial crime so that the victim can be saved from financial loss in time.
Meanwhile, through this helpline Rs 40,000 have been save in Balod district, Rs 1.95 lakh in Balodabazar, Rs 1.05 lakh in Bastar, Rs 1.39 lakh in Bemetara, Rs 12,000 in Bijapur, Rs 45,000 in Bilaspur, Rs 36,000 in Dantewada, and Rs 1 lakh in Dhamtari.
