Raipur: Brijlal Bharadwaj, who has been a synonym to fear among Naxals, was involved in over 100 Naxal operations. During these operations, he gunned down 17 Naxals. His bravery has earned him a distinction and set an example for others. Brijlal is going to receive President Medal for his bravery during the Republic Day function in 2022. At prese4nt, Brijlal is posted as In-charge of Mangla Thana in Bilaspur district of Chhattisgarh.
Had to undergo both mental and physical challenges
Till last year, Inspector Bharadwaj was posted in DRG in Sukma. He had to overcome many challenges using the skill and knowledge he had received during police training. He led several Naxal operations in Sukma and gunned down a dozen Naxals between 2016 and 2020. According to him, he had to face difficulties during these operations, but senior officials helped him overcome all the difficulties. The name of Brijlal Bharadwaj was sent to the Union Home Ministry for President Award in 2019. The Ministry released the name of 31 brave soldiers across the country on August 14 for President Award.
Got trapped in the jungle for several days
According to Brijlal, he and his team got trapped in jungles for several days on many occasions. In the absence of a mobile network, it was difficult to connect to the rest of the world. However, this did not deter their morals.
We were surrounded thrice by Naxals
Inspector Brijlal Bharadwaj said that they were thrice surrounded by Naxals during search operations. However, Brijlal Bharadwaj helped all the time to came out of the trap of the Naxals safely.
