Raipur: BJP Kisan Morcha's Chhattisgarh state vice-president and investigation team in-charge Gourishankar Srivas alleged that the state government is not at all sensitive about the paddy lifting which has resulted in the delay in lifting paddy in the state.
Addressing a press conference here on Monday, Srivas said the state government has already delayed the purchase of paddy by one month and still could not lift the paddy. He said that lakhs of metric tonnes of paddy has rotted in the entire state due to rain; however, the state government is ignorant towards it. He said that the wastage of paddy due to the state government's negligence is a national loss and arrangements should be made to lift the paddy immediately.
He said that when the investigation was done by the investigation team in all the districts of the entire state, it was found that about 9 lakh tonnes of paddy has been spoiled in the entire state due to rains. “It is an open challenge to the government that if the report made on paddy is wrong, then immediately file an FIR against us”, he said.
BJP Kisan Morcha's Chhattisgarh state president Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, said while addressing the press conference that the investigation team committee was constituted by the BJP in all the districts regarding the wastage of lakhs of metric tonnes of paddy in the entire state cooperative societies. In all the districts of the state, when the BJP investigation team went to the society and checked whether the paddy has been lifted there, whether there is a proper arrangement to cover the paddy under the open sky or not, it was found that various cooperative societies in the state have not even lifted paddy yet. Millions of metric tonnes of paddy have got drenched in the rain.
He said that in many societies, paddy has also sprouted due to rains. This shows that the hard work of the ‘Annadata’ farmers is being continuously insulted by the Congress government of the state. He said that the government is holding the committees responsible for the wastage of paddy in the committees. Due to which many committee members are forced to resign.
Former Agriculture Minister Chandrashekhar Sahu, State Kisan Morcha Vice President Alok Thakur, General Secretary Dwarikesh Pandey were among present in the conference.
