Bilaspur. Indian Railways is now operating the Kisan Rail to assist farmers and ensure swift transportation of agricultural products across the country. Agricultural products are being transported from one corner of the country to the other with minimum expenses through Kisan Rail. It provides safe, reliable and quick transportation which is crucial for farmers and traders in getting suitable prices for their products.
It has been decided by South East Central Railway on November 25 to run Kisan Special train from Chhindwara station of Nagpur division with a combination of eighteen coaches which will connect the states of Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Bihar and West Bengal. On return, this train will leave Howrah station on November 26. The Railway is offering fifty per cent concession in the fare for the transportation of vegetables and fruits. With this facility, farmers will be able to send their produce to potential new markets at a low cost, which will profit them. Farmers or traders transporting vegetables and fruits through Kisan Rail can get detailed information by contacting Bilaspur Parcel Office or Chief Commercial Inspector Nishith Kumar Pandey.
