Fast track court sentences a tantric to 40 years of imprisonment in rape case

Raipur: A fast track court in Raipur has sentenced a Tantrik to a total of 40 years imprisonment in connection with rape case of two sisters.

Special Public Prosecutor Tarachand Kosale said that the court of District Additional Sessions Judge (Fast Track Court) Pooja Jaiswal sentenced Tantrik Samay Lal Dewangan aged about 48 years to 20-20 years imprisonment i.e. a total of 40 years imprisonment in the case of raping two sisters.

Kosale said that the court said in its judgment that the sentence of imprisonment of the accused would go on one after the other. He said that the court has also imposed a total fine of Rs 10,000 on the accused tantric.

The advocate said that in December 2016, two sisters, aged 21 and 19, took their family members to Tantrik Devangan after complaining of stomach and back pain. He said that Dewangan raped both sisters in the name of treatment from the beginning of 2017 and also threatened to kill them if they told anyone. In September 2017, both the sisters informed the family about the incident and they filed a case against Tantrik Dewangan at Gudiyari police station in the city.
