Raipur: Renowned TV journalist and Indian news anchor Rohit Sardana died due to cardiac arrest on Friday. He was 41 and was also battling with deadly coronavirus.
Aaj Tak news channel gave information in this regard through a tweet on his official Twitter handle.
Rohit Sardana, who has been a renowned face in electronic media for a long time, used to anchor the show 'Dangal', which aired till today on 'Aaj Tak' news channel. In 2018 itself, Rohit Sardana was awarded the Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Award. As per sources, he was admitted to a private hospital after testing positive for Covid-19.
Condolences started to pour in on social media as the news started to spread.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote on his official Twitter handle “Rohit Sardana left us too soon. Full of energy, passionate about India’s progress and a kind hearted soul, Rohit will be missed by many people. His untimely demise has left a huge void in the media world. Condolences to his family, friends and admirers. Om Shanti.”
President of India Ramnath Kovind wrote in his tweet “The news of the demise of popular news anchor and senior journalist Rohit Sardana is very sad. His untimely demise is a huge loss for the journalism world. My condolences to the family and fans of Shri Sardana”.
