UK returned man tests positive for corona

Raipur: Amid threat of new stain of coronavirus in UK, a 34-year-old youth returned from UK at Bilha in Bilaspur district has been tested positive for Covid 19.


As per official sources, the man was first tested through rapid antigen kit, the report of which was negative. Following this RTPCR test was done which came positive. Now, the sample has been sent to AIIMS, if the report also comes positive here, then the sample will be sent to Pune Lab for testing Strain-2.


Besides, the report of 2 out of 4 passengers coming to city and nearby area from the UK has come negative. While the wife of corona positive man has gone to Janjgir.  The health department has sent the information of this female traveler to the Janjgir administration. 


As many as four passengers arrived from Britain 2 days ago in the district. These included 1 Rajkishore city, 1 Sadar Bazar and 2 passengers of Bilha. Before their arrival in India, the corona test was done in Britain and after reaching India, the report of all of them came negative. However, according to the guideline, the corona test was carried out again after all these passengers reached the district. They were first tested with antigens, all were found negative, followed by RTPCR, travelers from Rajkishore and Sadar Bazar were found to be negative. The woman's RTPCR test couldn't be done due to her travel to Janjgir.
