Man swindles Rs 5 lakh on pretext of providing admission in medical college, FIR lodged

Raipur: Raigarh police has lodged an FIR against a man who swindled Rs 5 lakh on the pretext of providing admission in medical college.

As per police sources, a girl living in Handi Chowk Gaushala Road Raigarh has lodged a report against an accused named Rahul who took Rs 5 lakh from her on pretext of providing admission in the Medical College of Bhubaneswar Odisha. The girl lodged FIR in Kotwali police station on Saturday.

As per the report, the girl was told by someone that a person named Rahul gets admission. When she contacted Rahul over phone call, he assured her of getting admission KIMS college in Bhubaneswar Odisha. He told her to deposit Rs 5 lakh in his wife's bank account. The girl transferred the money in the said account. However, after 10-15 days, Rahul informed her that all seats in the college has been filled and if you want you can get admission in Pune, Sangli, Mumbai, etc. Rahul asked for 15 days to return the money and a month’s time afterwards. At the end he switched off his mobile. A crime has been registered against Rahul on the written complaint of the girl.
