Raipur: Raipur police has geared up to secure the city especially the crowded areas on the New Year's eve.
Raipur SP Ajay Kumar Yadav told Dispatch News "over 2000 police personnels have been deployed in the city and Nava Raipur to avoid any untoward incident besides ensuring that covid related guidelines issued by the state government and health authorities are being followed during the celebrations."
He added that police will monitor all public places including hotels, restaurants, farm houses from December 31 night to night of January 1 when the celebrations are at peak to keep a strict vigil to avoid any untoward incident.
Check points will be made in various places in Nava Raipur. Monitoring will be done from the control room through CCTV cameras. For this, the force will be called from another district. This time 10 bike patrolling will be deployed on duty to catch bikers and addicts. Special teams of police will also be formed, who will travel overnight and will file a case against the organizers for violation of rules, he said.
