Work done by doctors during corona pandemic is commendable: Health Min TS Singh Deo

Raipur: Health Minister TS Singh Deo on Sunday attended the doctor's felicitation ceremony organized at Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Raipur.

About 550 certificates and 86 mementos were given in this program to express gratitude to the doctors of different departments and the students of the medical college who have provided service in the hospital premises continuously during the corona pandemic.

Addressing the programme, health minister said "due to my unavailability on Doctor's Day, this program could not be possible, but the management carried forward this program and organized it today, for which I am thankful."

He added that the first 3 doctors who got awards today have also saved me from corona virus, for which I will be grateful to them. Along with this, in these challenging circumstances, all of you together handled the system and in the initial days when Corona was at its inception, apart from government hospitals, almost all private hospitals had closed their doors in front of this situation, he said.


He further said that in the initial days, even in the absence of resources including PPE kits, the dedication with which the doctors have worked is commendable. In the context of Chhattisgarh, people say that the management is doing well here and a huge contribution has been made by all of you in establishing the management, which has increased the confidence of the people towards the system in this difficult situation, he said.

The doctors expressed their gratitude to the Health Minister TS Singh Deo by giving him a memento. Raipur MLA Satyanarayan Sharma, MLA and Parliamentary Secretary Vikas Upadhyay and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.

Following the programme, health minister reached the Nursing Hostel present in Mekahara premises, where he reviewed the development works of the under-construction building. After this, the minister reached the Government Physiotherapy College, where he met the management officers, teachers and students and reviewed the arrangements, during which he saw the presentation on the college and provided necessary guidelines to the management officers.
