Senior tribal leader Ramvichar Netam expresses concern over conversions in tribal dominated areas, urges Union home min Amit Shah to take appropriate action

Raipur: Expressing concern over conversions in tribal dominated areas of Chhattisgarh, senior tribal leader and Rajya Sabha MP Ramvichar Netam has written a letter to union home minister Amit Shah.

In his letter Netam has mentioned about the letter of Sukma SP in which he has expressed concern in many villages of Chhindgarh police station area regarding converting the innocent tribals by luring them to religion by Christian missionaries and converted tribals. He has also expressed concerned regarding a conflict between innocent tribals and converted tribals over this matter. He has asked the union minister to take appropriate action in this matter.

Meanwhile, panchayat and rural development minister TS Singh Deo said on this matter that opposition parties are repeatedly trying to raise this issue. I don't think this kind of activity would be being carried out in an uncontrolled manner by any community. If it was voluntary, it would be a different matter. But if conversion is happening somewhere by luring tribals, then it is wrong and action must be taken.
