Raipur: Koriya SP Santosh Singh has been selected for the "IACP Award 2021" by the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), the world’s largest and most influential professional association for police leaders. This honor will be given to 40 police officers from 6 countries of the world.

This award is given on the basis of assessment of outstanding work done in policing. This police organization includes police officers from 165 countries of the world. This award is being given to Santosh Singh in the '40 under 40' category to police officers who has tried to bring change through new experiments and good works in policing work with better leadership ability.

Singh is being given this award on the basis of his assessment of the work done by him in better policing and improving the image of the police in the last eight years. This time 40 police officers from 6 countries of the world including USA, UAE, Canada, Australia, Korea and India will be honored with this award. It also includes the name of IPS Amit Kumar of Uttar Pradesh cadre from the country. The IACP announces such awards annually at its annual ceremony in September, and at the following year's ceremony the award is given in person at its Texas headquarters. The officers will be presented this award in October 2022 in Texas, USA. In the past, DIG EOW Arif Sheikh from Chhattisgarh has received this award.

Meanwhile, Santosh Singh has done commendable work for a long time in the Naxal affected areas of Bastar. During his posting of Mahasamund, while strengthening child friendly policing, about 1 lakh children were trained in self-defense, which made a world record. Thousands of people were provided rations and food packets during lockdown by police. Under his command, the Raigarh Police distributed about 1.24 million free facemasks to people in a single day. He was also recognized as among the top 20 public servants in India Promoting Good Governance and Innovations during Covid-19 by Bureaucrats India, a Delhi-based organization. Raigarh police created a world record by distributing 12.37 lakh masks in a single day, on the day of Rakshabandhan last year, under the famous campaign of mask-awareness 'Ek Raksha-Sutra Mask' with public cooperation, which is the Golden Book of World Records, Asia Book of Records and entered in the India Book of Records. Under his leadership in Korea, strict legal action and public awareness campaign is being run by the police against narcotics and drugs under his leadership.
