Two station masters suspended for giving wrong signal to passenger train

Raipur: Two station masters have been suspended for giving wrong signals for a passenger train on Tuesday afternoon.

The incident happened on Tuesday afternoon when there was green signal at Bilaspur zonal railway station for JD Special passenger train going from Jharsuguda to Gondia. An announcement was also made on the station to inform passengers to reach platform number 5 to board the train.

As per the ongoing schedule, JD Passenger was to arrive on platform number 5, However an empty rake of Chhattisgarh Puja Special coming from Amritsar to Bilaspur was already standing on the platform which was being sent to the coaching depot for maintenance. Green signal was given JD train even though the track was not empty, but this signal was for bypass. After the intervention of officials and staff concerned, the empty rake was sent to coaching depot and JD train was diverted back to platform 5.

The officers of the operating department have started the investigation after suspending two RRI staff including DK Swarnakar and KK Sinha, who made a mistake by giving the wrong signal.
