CG High Court asks state to file its reply in senior IPS officer GP Singh's case

Raipur: Chhattisgarh High Court has asked the state to file its reply and summoned case diary in connection with petition filed by Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) G P Singh demanding CBI probe in his sedition and corruption cases.

Singh has filed a writ petition through advocate Kishore Bhaduri. In the first petition, he has also sought CBI investigation of the cases registered against him in ACB and Raipur City Kotwali, interim relief and stay on the ongoing investigation against him. Besides, he has also challenged the sedition case filed against him.

It has been stated in the petition that some leaders and officers, who interfere in the government for refusing to do illegal works, have implicated him. The officers first threatened him and later conducted an ACB raid alleging disproportionate assets. An offense of sedition was registered against him. Singh said that he was ready to cooperate in the investigation, but the matter should be handed over to the CBI or any other independent investigating agency.

Senior IPS GP Singh had filed a petition in the High Court on July 9. After this, by the evening, the state government also filed a caveat in the High Court. In its application, the state government had told the High Court that before giving any relief to Singh, their side should also be heard. GP Singh, on the other hand, had also filed his advance petition in the Raipur court. The High Court has set next date of hearing on Tuesday.
