Koriya. The Superintendent of Police, Koriya, Santosh Kumar Singh, organized a conference to prevent ATM fraud, UPI fraud, phishing etc. at Reserved Center Baikunthpur today. He took a meeting of all the bank in-charges of Koriya district in the hall. He asked them to fix all the CCTV cameras installed in banks, install CCTV cameras inside and outside ATMs, repair poor bank buildings, have an armed guard present at the main gate or inside the bank, to follow the Covid-19 protocol in all the banks. The SP said that the criminal would look around the place before committing the crime. In such a situation, the bank should give special instructions to its guards that if any person is roaming around unnecessarily, call the police. If you see them going inside, then interrogate them and inform the police if necessary. He also said that a victim of cybercrime can freeze his/her account by calling on 155 260, the helpline number. They can also file a complaint on cybercrime.gov.in. The SP informed about the increase in the facilities available to the general public in banking operations and a rise in various types of crimes due to digitization. He also spoke about the RP Portal, through which the police department and bank officials can provide immediate relief to the victim in case of cybercrime. The Superintendent of Police expected the bank in-charges to treat the victims of cyber frauds with cordiality and co-operate with them responsibly. The bank should give a transaction report to the victim. Necessary information must be made available to the victim about this, and they should get guidance as far as possible. The number of the police station/outpost in charge, police control room must be available with every officer, employee and guard of the bank.
