Raigarh becomes first dist to achieve 100 per cent vaccination with first dose of all adults

Raipur: Raigarh has become the first district of Chhattisgarh to have 100 per cent adult population vaccinated with the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine. The target was completed on Friday.

Chief minister Bhupesh Baghel lauded the achievement of the district.

The team reached door to door for Covid vaccination under the leadership of Collector Bhim Singh and under the guidance of CEO Zila Panchayat Dr Ravi Mittal. Along with the team of administration and health department, public representatives were also included in this. Collector Bhim Singh constantly took meetings of Sarpanchs and councilors. People were motivated to join the vaccination campaign by telling about the benefits of vaccination at the global level. Teams reached people's doorsteps. Hesitant people were encouraged to get vaccinated by providing factual information about the vaccine. Mobilization was done by arranging vaccines on such a large scale in constant coordination with the government. A total target of 10, 42, 625 vaccines was met in the district in 18 plus age category.

District collector Bhim Singh said on this achievement “it is the result of mutual partnership of health department with officers of all other departments, ground staff, and public representatives. Everyone worked as a team. I congratulate everyone involved in this process. Now the focus will be for completing target of second dose vaccination”.

Meanwhile, June 26 was a historic day for Raigarh. Under the leadership of Collector Bhim Singh, a massive vaccination campaign was conducted in the entire district. On this day, a record was set for vaccinating more than 1.43 lakh people in a single day so far, which is maximum in the entire state. Long queues of people were seen in the vaccination centers, the enthusiasm of the people made this campaign a vaccine festival.
