Raipur: As AICC former president and Member of Parliament Rahul Gandhi’s Bastar and Surguja visit is scheduled for September 12 amidst recent political turmoil over the post of Chief Minister, Chhattisgarh government is leaving no stone unturned to impress him during his visit. It is worthwhile to mention, Rahul Gandhi is visiting Chhattisgarh on the invitation of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel who, during his recent Delhi visit, had invited him to come to Chhattisgarh and see the development work done in tribal dominated Bastar and Surguja.
It is said that Rahul Gandhi agreed with Baghel to visit Chhattisgarh because he is satisfied with the work so far done in the state. It also to be mentioned, BJP organised a ‘Chintan Shivir’ in Bastar from August 31 to September 2 and keeping this in mind, the visit of Rahul holds a lot of significance. Chhattisgarh BJP In-charge D Purandeswari had attended the BJP camp.
It is learnt that all Congress leaders in the state are maintaining silence over Rahul Gandhi’s visit to State as they don’t want any kind of controversy. Sources said that Rahul may give Baghel a go ahead to reshuffle his Cabinet. It is also said that list of Cabinet ministers have also been prepared and it may includes some unexpected faces. Those who will be inducted as minister will play pivotal role in the coming elections in the state, sources said. It is also to be mentioned, Baghel is one of the biggest face of OBC for Congress in the country and state schemes being adopted by the centre. Baghel may be given a big responsibility in UP which is going to poll in 2022.
