Raipur: Congress MLA Shailesh Pandey on Monday performed rituals of Rath Yatra (chariot festival) of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Mata Subhadra on Monday and prayed for happiness and prosperity of the people of Chhattisgarh. They participated in the Rath Yatra programme organized on the Railway premises here.
MLA Pandey paid obeisance to Lord Jagannath, Brother Balabhadra and Sister Subhadra.The MLA said on the occasion that Lord Jagannath is connected equally to the culture of both Odisha and Chhattisgarh and Rath Dooj is an integral part of Chhattisgarh like Odisha. The culture of Utkal and Dakshin Kosal share a strong bonding. It is said that the origin of Lord Jagannath is Shivrinarayan Teerth in Chhattisgarh, he said.
The MLA also expressed concern that the present crisis is tough for the entire world. “We have lost so many things including our near and dear ones during the two waves of the Covid pandemic. The crisis is still there. I pray to Lord Jagannath to save the people from this crisis,” concluded MLA Shailesh Pandey.
