Raipur: Food minister Amarjeet Bhagat inquired about the health of villagers injured by bear attack in village Navatoli of Surguja district and directed the officials to provide immediate proper treatment to the injured.
As per information, bears had come in village Navatoli and attacked a 65-year-old woman and injured her on Sunday evening. Two youths were also injured while making an effort to drive away the bear. Soon after receiving information about the incident, minister Amarjeet Bhagat immediately inquired about the health of the injured women and youths and directed the officials concerned for their proper treatment and care.
The minister also immediately spoke to the chief conservative forest officer in this regard besides giving directions to send rescue teams at the earliest to get the bear out of the villages.
Officials informed that villagers injured in the bear attack are being treated at the community health center in Sitapur. The minister asked to take injured Ambikapur for treatment if needed. He also directed the official concerned to pay proper compensation to the injured.
Officials said that the bear has been driven from the village to the forest. The staff of the forest department is also stationed around the forest, to avoid any mishap in future.
