Maoist involved in big naxal attacks including Jheeram attack surrenders before Telangana police

Raipur:  Naxal commander and son of Naxalite Ramanna carrying reward of Rs 1.4 crore Ranjit has surrendered before Telangana Police on Wednesday.

Telangana DGP Mahender Reddy has confirmed the surrender of Ranjit saying that Ramanna's son has surrendered. This is a big success for Telangana Police. We also appeal to the rest of the Naxalites to lay down their weapons before the government. They will be given the benefit of rehabilitation policy.

Ranjit Minpa has been involved in big Naxal incidents. More than 60 soldiers were martyred in these attacks. As per sources he was trying to strengthen the organization, but the big cadre was constantly ignoring him which is the reason of his surrender.

Ranjit was born in the year 1998 in the Bastar area of Chhattisgarh. He was brought up in the Naxalite organization itself. He studied at the Janata School and learned to use a weapon from his childhood. After studying from there till 6th, Ramanna changed the name of himself and son to Ranjit and enrolled in Kakatiya School in Nizamabad. From here Ranjit completed his studies till 10th standard. One and a half years ago Ramanna died due to illness.

When Ranjit was studying in a school in Nizamabad, he used to come to the forest of Dandakaranya during his school holidays where hardcore Naxalites Nagesh and Shabri used to visit the Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee (DKSZC) area. According to the police, both these big Naxalite leaders have been killed in the encounter. Ranjit used to learn to strategize with big Naxalites. It used to stay with the Maoist commander during the holidays.

When Ranjit returned to his father after completing his 10th standard, Ramanna did not let him go out of the forest as he was afraid of his encounter. Ranjit started traveling with his father from 2015 to 2017. The Naxalites took advantage of Ranjit's education and gave him the responsibility of expanding the organization. He used to work to connect the youth with the organization. He was involved in the attack of Kasaram in the year 2018 in which about 9 soldiers were martyred. He was also involved in the major Naxalite attack in Jiram in the year 2021. 26 jawans were martyred in this incident. However, the security forces also killed 6 big Naxalite leaders.
