Raipur: Bilaspur MLA Shailesh Pandey on Tuesday inspected the Divisional Covid-19 District Hospital and CIMS Hospital on the instructions of the chief minister Bhupesh Baghel and health minister TS Singh Deo.
The state government is keeping special watch on the current Covid situation in the state for prevention of surge in number of coronavirus cases. In the same sequence, for the purpose of providing better treatment to corona patients, the city legislator visited hospitals to inspect the facilities being provided to covid patients.
In addition to expansion of 200 beds, the work is being done to increase the availability of oxygen and the number of ventilators in both the hospitals. Health minister TS Singh Deo recently gave directions to expand the facilities of the hospitals in the CIMS Autonomous Committee meeting in the presence of MLA Shailesh Pandey.
Pandey informed the officials present during inspection that the expansion of 150 beds in the district hospital is nearing completion and the target is to increase it to 200. He said that discussions in this regard has been made with the minister in charge Tamradhwaj Sahu and a request has been made for approval of DMF/CSR item of about Rs 1.25 crores.
About 65 beds with oxygen supply will soon be introduced in CIMS hospital for better treatment of Corona patients. Besides, expansion of facilities will cost about Rs 3.25 crore. He also inspected Sims new building where 120 beds work for Corona patients is underway.
Meanwhile, the state government is making every possible effort to prevent the rising corona infection. In this line, they had asked people to extend their support in the Chief Minister's Relief Fund. MLA Shailesh Pandey has written a letter to donate his one month's salary to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund.
