
Raipur: Health minister TS Singh Deo has called an
emergency meeting of district level officials on Friday amid the surge in
number of coronavirus cases in the state capital.
Expressing his concern over rise in number of
coronavirus cases in Raipur, the health minister has called for an emergency
meeting to discuss further action plan.
Minister Ravindra Chaube, Raipur mayor,top district level officials including Raipur
district collector, superintendent of police, municipal corporation
commissioner, CMHO and officials of many district level departments are present
in the meeting.
District collectors of two neighboring districts
including Durg and Bemetara have announced a week long lockdown in their
respective districts due to rise in number of corona cases. It is being
speculated that if the pace of increase in number of corona positive cases
remains the same, then a lockdown could also be imposed in Raipur district.
The situation has become much worse in the state capital with 7403 active cases. As per official sources, there is shortage of ventilators and oxygen beds in the hospital. ICUs are also almost full. After AIIMS and Mekahara, now the Mana hospital is also filled indicating for a strict decision to curb the spread of virus in the district.
