CG HC directs state to provide land to landless members of the Gangrel Dam Conflict Committee

Raipur: Chhattisgarh High Court has directed the state government to provide land to landless members of the Gangrel Dam Conflict Committee.

The bench of Justice MM Srivastava has given a time period of 3 months to the state government for the completion of the process.

Meanwhile, land of villagers was for the construction of Gangrel Dam in 1972, in which around 50 villages were affected. The then Indira Gandhi government announced that the villagers would be given appropriate compensation. However since then nothing has been done in this regard to provide relief to villagers. More than 900 members will benefit from this decision of the court.
