JSPL bags India International CSR Impact Awards

Raipur: Jindal Steel Power Limited (JSPL) has India International CSR Impact Awards during the India International CSR Summit and Impact Awards 2020 organized on Friday evening.

 

The award has been conferred for its “Asha—the hope” project in the most innovative project category of the year category. JSPL President and Group Head CSR Education and Sustainability Prashant Kumar Hota received the award at an event organized online by Brand India. Various industries and NGOs, many leading individuals from the society participated in the programme.

 

JSPL Foundation Chairperson Shalu Jindal congratulated the team members for this achievement saying that Asha the Hope is one of our major efforts for social upliftment, under which we try to empower the differently abled people. Our emphasis is particularly on bringing children with disabilities who are still in their early age into the mainstream. In the centers located in Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Jharkhand we have been able to bring 4900 such children to the mainstream with the help of medical and rehabilitation services at Asha The Hope Centers. Asha Hope Center is the ray of hope for these children.

 

State-of-the-art facilities have been provided at the Asha The Hope Center, including many impressive services like Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Sensory Integration Therapy, Disabled Education System, Audiometer speech therapy. Through these mediums, rehabilitation and empowerment of children according to different needs is done so that they can develop vocational skills, so that they can lead self-reliant and self-respecting lives. These centers also provide artificial limbs, other ancillary equipment to specially abled children and individuals. Even during, the JSPL Foundation trained these children online to ensure positivity in their lives. Skill development training, music and dance classes, sports activities and community-based rehabilitation assistance programmes are also organized for the empowerment of the disabled.
