Raipur. Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, has released the ranking for Municipal Performance Index and Ease of Living Index -2020.
Raipur ranks 2nd in the technical category of Municipal performance Index, and has 7th position in overall categories. The capital of Chhattisgarh ranks 6th among habitable cities in the Ease of Living Index.
Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of State (Independent Charge), Housing and Urban Affairs, announced the release of the final rankings of the Ease of Living Index (EoLI) and the Municipal Performance Index (MPI)-2020 today in an online event. Durga Shanker Mishra, Secretary, MoHUA and senior officials of the Ministry were present at the event.
The rankings under the Ease of Living and Municipal Performance Index - 2020 were for municipalities with a million or higher population; more than a hundred cities participated in this assessment, along with all those under the Smart Cities Program.
Raipur Municipal Corporation has earned a significant place at the national level through active public participation. Under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Urban Administration Minister Dr Shiv Kumar Daharia, all public representatives, councillors, voluntary organisations and citizens of Raipur played a role in upgrading urban facilities.
Smart city Raipur has been placed at 6th position in the sustainable category in the Ease of living index amidst stiff competition with metros cities. Raipur has made its mark on the map of the country by its achievement.
