Raipur. BJP has organised Khet Satyagraha in Chhattisgarh, for the very first time. BJP leader and former Agriculture Minister, Chandrashekhar Sahu, have started this Satygraha with his workers. He is sitting on a Dharna in Dadarjhori village, Abhanpur District, his constituency, with 9-points demand of farmers.

Chandrashekhar Sahu began his sit-in from Bajrangpur, meeting a farmer whose crops had failed this year. From there he travelled on foot to Dadarjhori, where he started his protest. One of the main demands of the protestors is the purchase of paddy. They want the government to start purchasing paddy from November 1. The former agriculture minister has asserted that the date fixed by the government is detrimental to the farmer's interests; the procurement of paddy should start immediately. Secondly, the protestor's want compensation of twenty-five lakhs rupees for farmers who have died by suicide in Durg and Abhanpur district. They have also demanded jobs for the family members of these farmers.

Apart from this, the protestors have also asked the government to create a task force that can monitor the sale of fake agricultural products. Former Agricultural Minister, Chandrashekhar Sahu also declared that the Congress government which calls itself pro-farmer seems to have adopted anti-farmer policy. They (the Congress) gained power through farmers, and now they are jilting farmers.
