
Raipur: Chhattisgarh chief secretary RP Mandal retired
as chief secretary on Monday. The 1987 batch IAS officer retired after 33 years
of service.
As per top official sources the 89-batch IAS officer
Amitabh Jain is all set to replace Mandal and an order in this regard will be
issued by the state government soon.
Besides, the state government is going to give post
retirement posting soon to Mandal. The drafting of the order has also been
prepared in this regard and he is going to be appointed as consultant in the
Urban Administration Department, said the sources.
However, speculations were that Mandal will be given
a posting in NRDA for some days. The state government is considering giving
Mandal a target to fix some cities of the state by appointing him in the urban
administration department.
Meanwhile, two days before his retirement, the Chhattisgarh
cabinet gave a touching farewell to the former chief secretary. Chief minister
Bhupesh Baghel felicitated him with a bouquet and wished him a prosperous
future. Cabinet minister also wished for
his healthy, long and happy life.
“Under the guidance of Mandal, the state has decided
to take many important steps for development. His contribution was commendable
in the challenging task of prevention and control of corona infection, due to
which the infection situation in Chhattisgarh was under control compared to
other states”, said chief minister.
