Raipur: CM Bhupesh Baghel is likely to attend the funeral of former Himachal Pradesh chief minister and veteran congress leader Virbhadra Singh at Shimla, sources privy to the congress party said.
Baghel on Friday morning will leave for Shimla to bid farewell farewell to octogenarian congress leader Virbhadra Singh on behalf of Congress president Sonia Gandhi. Chhattisgarh Health Minister T S Singhdeo who also happens to be a close relative of the deceased leader may also accompany Baghel to attend the last rites of Virbhadra Singh who ruled the Himalayan state for long.
Minister T S Singhdeo expressed his grief on social media and said "With the passing of Virbhadra Singh ji, Himachal Pradesh has lost one of its greatest statesmen and most loved & admired leaders. It's an irreparable loss not just for HP but also @INCIndia & Indian politics. He passed away at 3:40 am today. Om Shanti".
The Octogenarian Congress leader Virbhadra Singh was a Five-time MP, nine-time MLA, and Six-time CM of the Hill State Himachal Pradesh. He had also served as a Union Minister.
As per the information Virbhadra Singh was tested positive for Covid-19 twice and had recovered but later he was diagnosed with severe pneumonia.
The former ruler of erstwhile Mandi,princely state in Himachal Pradesh,Virbhadra breathed his last today after a prolonged illness. He was one of the leading figure of the grand old party in North India.
