Raipur:In view of rising number of beggars in the state capital in the last few days, an action plan has been prepared under the joint aegis of police department, Municipal Corporation, social welfare department, women and Child Development Department and Child Line to send them to Beggars Rehabilitation Centre.
According to information, there is sudden spurt of number of beggars in the city. People with criminal mindset have also been noticed roaming in the guise of beggars which can lead to major trouble. Moreover, beggars are often found at traffic signals while begging and it poses threat to their lives.
Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Yadav in association the aforementioned government agencies prepared the action plan under which the beggar will be sent to the
regabilitation centre. As many as 53 beggars were sent to rehabilitation centre on September 1. Destitute children will also be sent to the rehabilitation centre with the help of CWC.
