Health Minister TS Singh Deo emphasized on increasing human resources along with strong infrastructure for strengthening health services in state

Raipur: Public Health and Family Welfare Minister TS Singh Deo emphasized on increasing human resources along with strong infrastructure for strengthening health services.

He was chairing a review meeting held on Wednesday to review the works of Health Services, Medical Education and AYUSH Departments.

In the meeting held at Mantralaya (Mahanadi Bhawan), he He directed to get the set-up of adequate number of faculty and other staff approved in the new medical colleges being started at Kanker, Mahasamund and Korba. He said that this would help in the smooth functioning of these colleges as well as in getting the accreditation of the National Medical Commission.

Principal Secretary (health) Dr Alok Shukla and Secretary Shehla Nigar were also present in the review meeting.

The minister directed to expedite the process of promotion of eligible officers and employees in all the institutions under the three departments including health services, medical education and AYUSH Department. He asked to give priority to appointment of regular officers-employees in place of contractual staff in these departments. He has asked the doctors to remain present in their places of posting and render services.

He also directed to make available the information of doctors posted in all district hospitals, community health centers and primary health centers of the state. The Health Minister also inquired about the implementation of Nursing Home Act and PC-PNDT Act. He asked officials concerned to rectify its shortcomings after studying the Nursing Home Act of other states,

Director, Health Services, Neeraj Bansod informed in the review meeting that the work of construction of new buildings for 113 sub-health centers, 60 primary health centers and 13 community health centers is in progress in the state. These are being manufactured by Chhattisgarh Medical Services Corporation (CGMSC).
