BJP assures all help to family of debt-ridden farmer committed suicide in Raipur district on Saturday

Raipur: Chhattisgarh BJP has assured all the help to the family of a debt-ridden farmer hailing from Amadi village in Raipur district who committed suicide on Saturday.

An investigation team constituted by BJP comprising of Chandrasekhar Sahu, Gourishankar Shriwas and Babi Kashyap investigated the case and provided financial assistance to the family of the deceased and assured of all possible help.

As per local sources, the farmer Ramnishad took this extreme step after he failed to repay a loan of about Rs one lakh. He was always worried about repayment of his loan and due to which he always remained sick. He also sold his farmland but the banks were pressurizing him to pay the amount at the earliest. When he visited the bank on Friday, he was sad and was not even talking to anyone. He drank poison in the evening the same day. When the wife returned home from the farm in the evening, she found her husband dead.

The saffron party has alleged that the farmer has committed suicide due to financial constraints. The BJP has formed a three-member investigation headed by Chandrasekhar Sahu to investigate the matter. Sahu along with two members including the BJP Kisan Morcha state vice-president Gourishankar Shriwas and District President (rural) Babi Kashyap visited the house of the deceased farmer on Sunday.

BJP Kisan Morcha state vice-president Gourishankar Shriwas said that this is very unfortunate. On one hand, the farmers are committing suicide and on the other hand, the state government is boasting about the merit of their schemes.
