Bilaspur Collector issues new directives to stem the tide of rising COVID cases.

Bilaspur. As the number of COVID cases continue to increase unabated, the district administration has decided to imposed Section 144. The administration is trying to ensure strict compliance of restrictions at every level.



Through section 144, Collector Dr Saransh Mitter has set the time of service of all the urban bodies and business establishments under Municipal Corporation Bilaspur. Accordingly, all types of permanent and temporary shops will open from 6 am to 9 pm, restaurants, hotels, dhabas will be open from 8 am to 10 pm. Similarly, take-aways and home deliveries from restaurants, hotels, dhabas will be available till 11.30 pm.

Petrol pumps and medical stores will operate freely. Apart from this, the movement of goods and services will also be free from the above restrictions. All shops, shopkeepers must display the time for opening and closing of their shops. All traders, employees, customers will be required to wear masks. Everyone must compulsorily follow social distancing in all business activities. All shops must compulsorily carry facemasks. It will be mandatory to keep sanitiser in each shop, institute for the use of owner and visitors. If any market or other area becomes a containment zone, then all the businesses in that area will be closed. If a business owner violates any of the above conditions, his/her shop will be sealed for 15 days. Any person(s), establishments who breaks the above orders will be punishable under sections 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act 2005 and Section 3 of the Pandemic Control Act 1897 of the Indian Penal Code.
