Raipur. On the 75th anniversary of the country's independence, a plantation campaign was started across the state today under the Amrit Mahotsav of Azadi through MGNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act).
Under the campaign, MNREGA workers will plant saplings in the villages from July 19 to August 1, members of self-help groups, Divyangjan, office bearers of three-tier Panchayati Raj institutions and women. The community land will have block plantations, with tree plantations along the roadsides, village panchayats, government schools and Anganwadi complexes and ponds. The state MNREGA office has given instructions to the field staff to strictly follow all the measures and guidelines to prevent Covid infection during plantations.
