Raipur. Chhattisgarh has become the fifth state in the country in terms of deaths from Covid. On Saturday, the state recorded 229 deaths. There were 802 deaths in Maharashtra, 412 in Delhi, 304 in Uttar Pradesh and 271 in Karnataka.
Saturday seems to have overshadowed the improvement in Covid-19 infection in Chhattisgarh since the previous week. The state had 15,902 new patients. Compared to them, the number of recovered patients was only 13,532. For the first time in the last four days, there has been such a big difference between the newly infected and completely cured. Due to continuous reforms, the number of active patients in the state was 1 lakh 17 thousand 910. But in the figures which came on May 1, the number of active patients has increased to 1 lakh 21 thousand 99.
In the first-second week of April, the lockdown had started in the districts of Chhattisgarh. The lockdown started in Raipur district from 6 pm on April 9. By 8 pm that day, the state had 11,447 new infections. At the same time, 2,305 people became healthy, and 63 people died. The number of active cases was 76,838, but the daily average of new patients during the lockdown reached 15,000. Therefore, the number of active patients is around 1 lakh 21 thousand 99, 44,231 more than the first day of lockdown.
