Raipur:Around 35,000 cases were settled by nearly 400 benches, including five benches of Chhattisgarh High Court, in National Lok Adalat organised in Chhattisgarh on Saturday.
As many as 83 cases were settled at High Court and Rs 3.17 crore award was passed.
National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) Executive Chairman and Judge of Supreme Court Justice U U Lalit and Acting Chief Justice of High Court of Chhattisgarh and Executive Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Legal Services Authority (CGSLSA) Justice PrashantKumar Mishra monitored the proceedings of the National Lok Adalat on virtual mode and issued necessary guidance.
Member Secretary of the CGSLSA Siddharth Aggarwal said Justice Lalitand Justice Mishra got connected through video conferencing in the National Lok Adalat with the bench of District Judge Dantewada Abdul ZahidQureshi, Additional District Judge Jagdalpur Nithi Sharma Tiwari and JMFC Keshkal Puneet Ram Gurupanch to monitor the proceedings of the National Lok Adalat.
Justice Lalit and Justice Mishrajoined the Dantewada District and Session court of Qureshi, proceedingsof compromise in MACT case 21/2021 Bhokli Bheeme and others vs RameshBabu and others was going on, wherein, translator translated the terms of compromise in Halbi language to the parties that was agreed by the parties and finally award of Rs 12 lakhs was passed by the Presiding officer.
During the monitoring of above process Shabuddin Qureshi, CPC High Court of Chhattisgarh was also present to coordinate. Member secretary also expressed his gratitude towards Chairman of Computerisation Committee of High Court Chhattisgarh Justice M MShrivastav for providing their entire team to make it possible to have LokAdalat through virtual mode even in the remotest area of Chhattisgarh like Bastar, Dantewada, Ramanujganj and Kanker.
