Bilaspur. Maheshia Bai Nishad of Mahamand village was admitted to a Covid-19 hospital on April 24, when she complained of ill health. After this, the woman's husband, Kamlesh Nishad, was present in the hospital every morning and evening for hours. He never got permission to meet his wife, Maheshia Bai. So, Kamlesh Nishad kept asking the doctors and the medical staff of the hospital about her condition. And the doctors used to tell him straight away that his wife was undergoing treatment; this went on from April 24 to 28.
Maheshia Bai's husband was suspicious but trusted the doctors implicitly. But with each passing day, Kamlesh Nishad became very doubtful about his wife Mahesia Bai Nishad's ongoing treatment in the hospital and the attitude of the doctors. He contacted Congress state spokesperson and social worker Abhay Narayan Rai. Abhay Narayan Rai is also from Mahmand village, and he went to the hospital to find out more about this case.
At the hospital, at first, they were dismissive and did not provide any clear answers. Abhay Narayan Rai was baffled, and he criticised and pushed the hospital management. The Officials at the hospitals were shaken. Finally, the hospital management searched and found that Mahaeshia Bai had passed away on April 25. Her corpse was in the mortuary. People from Mahmand village created a commotion at the hospital. The doctors had no answers. If the Congress Spokesperson had not interceded on behalf of Kamlesh Nishad, he would've still been waiting for his wife.
