Raipur: Chief minister Bhupesh Baghel on Saturday inaugurated and performed Bhoomipujan of various development works worth Rs 1146 crore in a programme organized at the mini-stadium of Raigarh district headquarters.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, the chief minister said that the interests of the farmers of the state will be safe at all costs. The government will fulfill its promises made to farmers. He said that the pace of procurement of paddy in the state has been affected due to the Central Agency FCI not being allowed to take rice yet. He hoped that a solution would come out very soon.
The chief minister made several announcements at the programme at the request of local legislators and public representatives, including renaming the newly constructed Medical College Hospital as Guru Ghasidas, making Chhal and Sariya Tehsils and construction of a railway overbridge in Kharisa. He also launched two innovative schemes run by the district administration including Pavana Abhiyan and Adarsh Health Card Scheme for menstrual hygiene.
On this occasion, chief minister distributed materials worth Rs 5.90 crore to the beneficiaries under various schemes. On this occasion, Agriculture Minister and Minister in charge of Raigarh district Ravindra Choubey, Higher Education Minister Umesh Patel, MLAs Prakash Naik, Laljit Singh Rathia, Uttari Ganpat Jangade, Chakradhar Singh Sidar, and many others public representatives and a large number of citizens were present.
Meanwhile, during his visit to Raigarh, the chief minister inspected Swami Atmanand English Medium School located at Natwar School Complex in Raigarh district headquarters. He interacted with the students and teachers and encouraged them. He told the teachers that this English Medium School also has to be given good recognition for quality education. Also, schools have to be set up as per the parents. In future, schools are to be opened in all 9 development blocks in Raigarh district, so that the children of rural and remote areas get the maximum benefit from it.
