Raipur: Two women including BJP leader in human trafficking case of Chhattisgarh’s Rajnandgaon district.
As per police sources, the woman accompanied by her eight-year-old son was befriended by the accused and was invited to her home for tea on September 10 where she was allegedly drugged. When she tried to escape she was handed over to trafficking agents who sold her off to a person for Delhi. The man with whom the survivor was married helped her to return home. She reached back here on November 22. Before being sold she was raped in Haryana.
Amid investigation of the case, police have arrested two women including BJP leader Ganga Pandey and a lady Sajda of Dongargarh. During the investigation Sajda told police regarding the gang indulged in human trafficking. They lure underprivileged women for marriage in the name of providing them a good job.
Ganga told the police that she works for arranging air tickets for the gang. Police suspect that a huge gang is behind this human trafficking and is being operated in other states too along with Chhattisgarh. Names of many local members of the gang have been revealed during the investigation and further proceedings are underway. The accused will be arrested soon.
