Raipur: Chhattisgarh High Court has banned the issuance of appointment letters to some of the candidates included in the final list of Civil Judge Exam 2020.
The petitioner has alleged that CGPSC has ignored the rules in the selection process of the candidates. The High Court has set next date of hearing on October 18.
Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission had conducted the examination for 32 posts of Civil Judge in 2020. In this, 13 posts were reserved for general category. The petitioner Khushboo Jain, who comes under the general category, also participated in this examination. In this she scored 86 numbers and secured 12th place. Many other candidates also achieved the same number, but despite being the oldest, CGPSC placed Khushboo below two candidates for the 12th post.
Petitioner’s counsel Rohit Sharma argued that after the declaration of the results of the civil judge examination, if any two or more candidates score equal numbers, then the candidate whose age is the highest will be selected according to the rules. In this case also the age of the petitioner was the highest, but instead of her name at the top, 2 candidates who are younger than her have been placed above her. In such a situation, even if they are eligible, they will not be able to get selected.
