Raipur: Yashwant Kumar, a 2007 batch IAS officer took charge of the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board CTB) managing director on Friday.
Soon after taking the charge and getting acquainted with the officers and employees of the board, Kumar spoke about performing better as a strong team. He took information about the various tourism activities conducted by the Tourism Board in the state by taking the meeting of all branch heads across state. He inquired in detail about the development works being implemented in the identified places under the government's ambitious scheme Ram Vanagaman Tourist Circuit and gave directions to make special arrangements to complete these works within the stipulated time period.
Besides, taking information about the works of Tribal Tourism Circuit, Buddhist Circuit Sirpur, Maa Bamleshwari Temple Dongargarh under Prasad scheme, he directed to speed up the pace of all these projects.
He also spoke about making special efforts to motivate tourists towards domestic tourism at present in view of the Corona pandemic. IAS with special interest in photography, tourism and adventure activities, Yashwant Kumar has served as district collector of Narayanpur, Bijapur, Raigarh and Janjgir-Champa. Currently, the state government has posted him as Director, Agriculture and has given additional charge of CTB managing director and sugarcane commissioner.
