Raipur: About 20 Congress MLAs along with chief minister Bhupesh Baghel reached Marwahi to participate in Marwahi MLA Dr KK Dhruv’s son Dashgatra.
The gathering is being considered important considering the ongoing political turmoil in Chhattisgarh. Recently this is the second time that Congress MLAs of the state are gathering in such large numbers. Earlier, about 50 MLAs from here had gone to Delhi on July 27 in support of chief minister Bhupesh Baghel.
As per sources, many MLAs from the surrounding areas have already reached Marwahi. This is going to be the biggest gathering of Congress MLAs after the show of strength in Delhi. Many state Congress office-bearers have already expressed their condolences by visiting Dr Dhruv's house. State Congress President Mohan Markam had also reached there last week.
Meanwhile, Marwahi MLA Dr KK Dhruv's son Praveen Kumar Dhruv died in a road accident on the intervening night of August 23-24. He was an electrical engineer at the Bango substation of the power company.
