State Government’s schemes have led to economic empowerment of the farmers: CM Bhupesh Baghel

Raipur: “Few years ago, farmers used to stand at the doors of moneylenders to ask for loans, farmers used to become defaulters in societies. Every year farmers used to get worried about the supply of fertilizers and seeds, but today major finance companies are standing at their doorstep, ready to finance anything from tractors to motorcycles. This change is the result of farmer friendly schemes and decisions of state government”, said chief minister Bhupesh Baghel.

He was addressing the virtual program of inauguration and Bhumipujan in Korba and Janjgir-Champa districts, from his residence office in Raipur on Friday. Baghel inaugurated and performed Bhoomipujan of 265 different development works worth Rs 226.96 crore 96 in Korba and Janjgir-Champa districts in the virtual program. He inaugurated and performed Bhoomipujan of 121 works worth about Rs 104 crore in Korba district and 144 different construction works costing Rs 122.96 crore in Janjgir-Champa district.

At the programme, chief minister announced approval for various works in Korba and Janjgir-Champa districts, on the request of local public representatives. Baghel said that the construction work of Darribraj-Gopalpur road in Korba will be approved soon. Chief Minister approved the construction work of Gopalpur-Barbaspur road. He announced that an Electricity Storage Unit will be established in Korba within two months. Similarly, he assured to issue tender for 132 KV power sub-station at Baloda area in Janjgir-Champa district soon. Chief Minister assured of including the demand for approval of Dabra-Kharsia road, testing of barrage in river Mand and lift irrigation at Dabra and high school at Sukda Mohai in the next budget.

Chief minister said that learning from the experiences of the first and the second wave of Corona, we are upgrading and enhancing the facilities in every government hospital from block to district-level. All the collectors have been instructed to prepare and submit an action plan for this within 15 days.

Presiding over the program, Speaker of the Vidhan Sabha Dr Charandas Mahant said that under the leadership of chief minister Bhupesh Baghel, commendable work has been done in Chhattisgarh for welfare and upliftment of the underprivileged and weaker sections of the society. Rural economy has been strengthened with Narva, Garua, Ghurua, Bari scheme. Chhattisgarh government has been lauded for its works USA as well.

Minister in-charge of Korba district Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam said that Chhattisgarh Government is consistently working towards making agriculture a profitable occupation in Chhattisgarh. First the loans of the farmers were waived off, then steps were taken to ensure fair price of their produce. Minister in-charge of Janjgir-Champa district TS Singhdeo said that even the COVID crisis could not affect the pace of development in Chhattisgarh. Despite the adverse circumstances, Chhattisgarh government continued to work for the upliftment of all sections.
