Bilaspur. Good news from Delhi has cheered the people of Bilaspur on Thursday evening. MP Arun Sao was meeting Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and Chairman of Airport Authority of India, Anuj Agarwal, got to know that air service from Chakarbhata Airport to Bhopal, Prayagraj, Jabalpur will start soon. The Union Minister has also tweeted in this regard.
The wait finally seems to be over. During the meeting, Union Minister told MP Arun Sao that Chakarbhata airport was upgraded under the Government of India's flight scheme. The airport also received ARC-3C license within a month. He informed that they plan to start air service at Bhopal-Prayagraj-Jabalpur route. A good response from passengers might also attract airline companies, which will pave the way for direct flights to metros.
MP Arun Sao also requested Union Minister to set up DVOR (Doppler Very High-Frequency Omni Range) and HPDME (High Power Distance Measuring Equipment) for smooth arrival of aircraft at Bilaspur Airport. He said that the DGCA team in their final audit had advised the airport to set up DVOR and HPDME under Navigation Aid facility.
