Strict Action Against sale of Illegal liquor in the State.

Raipur. As per Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel's orders, DGP DM Awasthi has given strict directions to all IGs and SPs to ban the sale of illegal liquor. He told them to "Launch strict action on the sale and transportation of illicit alcohol. If illegal liquor is recovered from any district, the TI of that district can receive a suspension. Keep a special watch on the illegal transport of liquor in border districts of Rajnandgaon, Karvadha, Mungeli. On receiving information about the same, a flying squad will move to initiate action. The police headquarters should be informed when illegal liquor is discovered in any district." The DGP today reviewed the law and order situation with all IGs and SPs through video conferencing.

In the review meeting, the DGP said that all the districts are taking prompt action on crimes against women. Surajpur, Bastar, Raigarh and Bilaspur districts have arrested the involved and presented a challan promptly in rape cases.

DGP DM Awasthi informed all the SPs that the Police Department has no place for indisciplined and criminal police officers. Chhattisgarh Police will adopt a policy of zero tolerance on police personnel with criminal inclination. The Durg IG and SP set an example by taking immediate dismissal action against the policeman from Balod who had brutally abused a girl child. He said that IG and SP should take immediate action on the personnel against who are proven guilty in the departmental inquiry.

Special DG RK Vij, ADG Himanshu Gupta, DIG Vineet Khanna, Sushil Dwivedi, AIG Rajesh Agarwal, Bhavna Gupta were present in the meeting.
